UPLFT Fitness is the fitness home of SEUCC's Wellness Matters Ministry.  Below you'll find information about the current class offerings and you can register for them right here.  If you have any questions about the classes please email UPLFT@UPLFT-FIT.COM

Cost: $15 per month.  Class participants are eligible to participate in all UPLFT Fitness classes.

Location: 15401 Mile Ave, Cleveland, OH.  The Frederick Douglas Resource ad Recreation Center

Start date:  Official kick-off date is Monday April 22nd.  This is an on-going class so new  participants may register at any time.

Classes:  Monday and Wednesday evenings 7pm, and Saturday mornings 10am.

Take the plunge and join us in the low-impact workout! 

You'll build muscle strength while boosting your endurance.  The class is fun but options are provided to make the class as challenging as you like.  Instructor Angel Woods will lead you through a series of exercises set to music to keep you motivated.  A class typically includes cardio and strength-training exercises, and ends with a cooldown period.  You do not need to know how to swim as the class takes place in a more shallow area of the pool.  Have joint problems?  No worries.  The natural buoyancy of the water is easy on your joints.

  • Instructor:  Angel Woods.

  • Intensity level: Low impact, moderate intensity; all movement is modifiable.

  • Areas of focus:  arms, core, back, glutes, and legs

  • Good for beginners:  Absolutely!

  • Equipment needed: water socks, some resistance equipment is available - you may wish to purchase your own.

The Men's Ministry and Wellness Matters Ministry Present:  "BASIC TRAINING".  Basic training is a men's only group fitness experience based in basic movement patterns: push, pull, squat, hine, and twist - using training methods of top athletes but presented at appropriate levels for each individual.  There is no dancing or complex choreography.  A variety of fitness modalities are introduced including, but not limited to battle ropes, slam ball, medicine ball, kettle bell, boxing etc.  You've been talking about "getting back in the gym" - well here's your chance.  Come join us in this challenging but fun class!

  • Instructor: Certified Master Trainer, Michael E. Poindexter

  • Intensity: Suitable for all levels. Movement taught at the basic level, exercise options are presented.

  • Areas of Focus: Full body resistance, cardio, mobility, flexibility; and speed, agility, and quickness training.

  • Good for Beginners: Yes. It's a progressive class, however care is taken to introduce movements according to ability and experience.

  • Equipment Needed: Come as you are; everything is provided.

Cost:  Free through 6/30/2024

Location: 3445 Warrensville Center Road.  Across from the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights

Days & Times: Saturdays 1pm-2:30pm

Silver Sneakers BOOM Muscle

Muscle incorporates athletic-based exercises that improve upper body conditioning. You'll move through several "blocks," which are groups of exercises that focus on different muscle groups. The focus of this class is on toning muscles and building overall strength.

  • Instructor: Michael E. Poindexter

  • Intensity: Low

  • Good for Beginners?  Yes.  Movement options are provided.

  • Areas of Focus: Full body resistance and cardio aerobic.

  • Equipment Needed:  All equipment provided

Location: 3445 Warrensville Center Road - across from the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights
